Biography:
Johnny Sanchez is one of two new series regulars among the Season 13 cast of "MADtv". (The other is Daheli Hall.) One does not have to peruse Johnny's entertainment resume too long in order to understand why everyone at "MADtv" has placed such faith in his abilities. Johnny has already earned a reputation as one of Los Angeles's most sought-after standup comedians; among the luminaries he has worked with are Louie Anderson, Chris Rock, and Damon Wayans. By employing a highly energetic performing style, careful attention to character detail, and precise delivery, Johnny shows time and again why his standup is truly worthy of such attention. He has showcased his comedy skills on numerous television programs, including HBO's "Comedy Showcase," the syndicated "Comics Unleashed," BET's "Comic View," and Comedy Central's "Premium Blend." Comedy Central even went a step further, giving Johnny an opportunity to shoot his own half-hour special for "Comedy Central Presents."

In addition to his standup work and current "MADtv" gig, Johnny has also found a number of side projects to keep him busy. Television guest-starring roles include "Becker" and "Watching Ellie," the second of which featured Johnny in a recurring role. Johnny also lent his voice to 2006's animated film Happy Feet, which also features voiceovers from Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, and Brittany Murphy.

In the PlanetMADtv equivalent of flattening a toothpaste tube in order to squeeze out the bottom remains, I have somehow managed to perform a similar action with my two-paragraph Johnny bio. Godz, I hope that his website is up soon and that it actually supplies much more useful info than the scantness I had to play with here. I hope I didn't pad the bio too much; I was just trying to make it breathe a little. Here's hoping that it doesn't suffocate.

They hired him straight to repertory. Apparently based solely on recommendation, but w/e.

Apparently. Heh. After all, he's on the show for so long... But it seems he made a bad choice.

Johnny isn't that bad. First of all, he can deliver lines, which certain castmembers (past and present) on this show haven't been able to do effectively. Secondly, he's actually CONTRIBUTING characters. Sure, Fahrid sucked the first time, but Lil Joker was hilarious. So I'm willing to give him a second chance next season.
